1. Segero
Segero, Mokpo National Maritime University's state-of-the-art training ship, is Korea's largest training ship, delivered in February 2019.
With a total tonnage of 9,196 tons and a total length of 133m, it can accommodate up to 239 people on board. The main engine is equipped with a 6,600 horsepower two-stroke engine manufactured by Hyundai Heavy Industries, allowing it to operate at a maximum speed of 19.6 knots. 19.6 knots means 36 km/h.
As a generator, four 4-stroke 1120KW HiMSEN engines are installed to power all
We supply the power needed for hands-on activities and operating ship equipment.
2. Magnetic compass
A magnetic compass refers to a traditional magnetic compass that uses the Earth's magnetic field. It has a long history with a long history of seafaring.
This is a traditional device that uses the Earth's north-south magnetic field to determine south and north by placing a bar magnet on a rotating body.
However, it has the disadvantage of causing errors due to vibration of the hull and deformation of the magnetic field due to current, so a rotating compass is currently used.
3. NOR
The former automation system of Kongsberg, a global automation company, was called NORCON.
The equipment you see is a type of navigation automation system from the old Kongsberg company that also has a simulation function.
4. Gyro Compass
A rotating compass is a device that indicates the exact location of true north by applying the principle that when the Earth's gravity is applied to the axis of a gyroscope rotating at high speed, it points in the direction of the Earth's true north and south due to precession.
This device has the advantage of being able to provide the exact location of true north without errors caused by the ship's movement, weather, and variations in the Earth's magnetic field caused by the iron components that make up the ship's hull. For this reason, it plays a central role in ship navigation equipment.
